Position Overview:
We are seeking caring, dependable, and team-oriented Assistant Teachers for our Elementary I (grades 1-3) and Elementary II (grades 4-6) classrooms. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a deep respect for children and bring a high level of professionalism and flexibility to their work in supporting the lead teacher and fostering a calm, engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist the lead teacher in maintaining a prepared Montessori environment Support individual and group learning under the guidance of the lead teacher Model respectful, positive behavior and communication Help with classroom management, materials preparation, and daily routines Supervise children during work periods, transitions, recess, and meals Collaborate with the classroom team and communicate professionally with colleagues and families
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in or experience with Montessori education Bachelor s degree or some college coursework in education or child development (preferred but not required) Previous experience working with children in a classroom or similar setting Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and flexibility in daily responsibilities
