Position Overview:
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and team-oriented Primary Assistant Teacher to support our mixed-age classroom for children ages 3-6. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep respect for young children and bring a high level of professionalism and flexibility to their work in supporting the lead teacher and maintaining a calm, purposeful classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist the lead teacher in preparing and maintaining the Montessori environment Support children with individualized work and group activities Model respectful communication and behavior in line with Montessori principles Help manage daily routines, including snack, lunch, transitions, and outdoor play Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness Collaborate with colleagues and communicate professionally with staff and families
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in or experience with Montessori education Experience working with young children in a classroom or caregiving setting Coursework in early childhood education (preferred but not required) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and flexibility
