Afterschool Program Coordinator Position Overview:

The After School Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading engaging after-school activities for students of various grade levels. This position requires a creative, organized, and compassionate individual who is dedicated to educating the whole child in a safe, loving, and fun environment. The coordinator will ensure a structured and supportive atmosphere that promotes academic enrichment, social-emotional learning, and positive youth development.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement a variety of age-appropriate after-school activities that support academic, physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Provide academic guidance and support to students with diverse learning needs and exceptionalities.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all students.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and ensure student engagement and discipline policies are upheld.
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers and parents to support student learning and behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, school personnel, and community partners.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports.
  • Coordinate snacks, supplies, and resources needed for daily programming.
  • Uphold all school policies and procedures as they relate to safety and student well-being.
Activities Provided:
    S.T.E.A.M.

    (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics):

    • Hands-on experiments, coding, robotics, problem-solving, and creative thinking challenges.
    • Visual arts, painting, crafts, music appreciation, instrumental exploration, and performing arts.
    • Structured games, sports, fitness challenges, and activities promoting health and wellness.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings.
    • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with exceptionalities.
    • Creativity in designing and implementing engaging and educational activities.
    • Passion for working with children and nurturing the whole child.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
    • Background check clearance required.
