Afterschool Program Coordinator Position Overview:
The After School Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading engaging after-school activities for students of various grade levels. This position requires a creative, organized, and compassionate individual who is dedicated to educating the whole child in a safe, loving, and fun environment. The coordinator will ensure a structured and supportive atmosphere that promotes academic enrichment, social-emotional learning, and positive youth development.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a variety of age-appropriate after-school activities that support academic, physical, emotional, and social development.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students with diverse learning needs and exceptionalities.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all students.
- Maintain effective classroom management and ensure student engagement and discipline policies are upheld.
- Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers and parents to support student learning and behavior.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school personnel, and community partners.
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports.
- Coordinate snacks, supplies, and resources needed for daily programming.
- Uphold all school policies and procedures as they relate to safety and student well-being.

- Hands-on experiments, coding, robotics, problem-solving, and creative thinking challenges.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with exceptionalities.
- Creativity in designing and implementing engaging and educational activities.
- Passion for working with children and nurturing the whole child.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Background check clearance required.
