Montessori Assistant Teacher Position Available In DeKalb, Georgia

Montessori Assistant Teacher 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Decatur, GA 30030 Full-Time Toddler Assistant and Afterschool assistant Arbor is accepting applications for a full-time toddler assistant teacher. This position is based at our Scott campus. Arbor follows the traditional school year schedule beginning in mid-August and ending the first week in June. The classroom is open Monday through Friday. The hours for the Toddler Assistant position are 10 am to 3:00 pm. The hours for the Afterschool Assistant position are 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

Responsibilities will include:

Supporting the lead teacher in a Toddler Montessori classroom setting. Working collaboratively with the lead teacher and other assistants to supervise children ages 18 months to 3 years old. Ensuring children’s safety in the classroom and on the playground. Helping daily to maintain a clean and attractive environment, including cleaning the materials and shelves and resetting the classroom for the next day. Participating in teacher workdays and school-wide workshops.

Candidate qualifications include:

Applicants must be 18 years of age. A college degree is strongly preferred, and current college students are encouraged to apply. A minimum of three years of experience working with children; experience working in a Montessori classroom is preferred. Must have a basic understanding of the Montessori philosophy; a commitment to further that understanding through professional development is required. Must be able to take initiative, work independently, and be a contributing member of a team. Must demonstrate a positive attitude with a commitment to strive for excellence. All candidates will be required to complete a background check, meet all state requirements for individuals working in a childcare setting, and show evidence of (or obtain after hiring) CPR/First Aid certification. All Arbor teaching staff are fully vaccinated. Applicants must be willing to follow all COVID protocols as outlined by the school. Starting pay is competitive and varies based on experience.
