ABOUT THE ROLE

Global Village Project is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our team starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a 10-month, 25-hour assistant teaching position that will offer the opportunity to learn from an innovative teaching team in a unique, multicultural school environment. The right person for this role will have experience working with English language learners in a classroom setting and a commitment to excellent teaching, lifelong learning, and meeting the needs of individual students. The Teaching Assistant will assist classroom teachers to facilitate the learning of English as well as content areas, and support in differentiating instruction. The role will report to the Education Program Manager, working closely with all teachers and the Education Team, and must be willing and able to communicate with volunteers and tutors.

Your key responsibilities include:

Facilitate daily study hall classes, tutoring students as needed and collaborating with volunteers to provide homework assistance. Collaborate with and assist teachers with differentiation strategies including small group lessons, activities, and one-to-one student assistance during regular class periods. Monitor and lead management of student behavior at lunch (lunch provided). Integrate arts, social and emotional learning, and restorative practices into curriculum and instruction (professional development provided). Attend meetings and contribute to staff professional development sessions. Contribute to a culture that values community, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
