Extension Program Assistant 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Gwinnett County, GA Class Summary Job Description This Extension Program Assistant is responsible for providing customer service, problem-solving, and opportunities for citizens that focuses on developing youth, nutrition and health, meal planning, family finances, and aging. Essential Duties Communicating with English, Korean or Vietnamese participants and community groups Working collaboratively with the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Extension Agent, staff members, volunteers, and other community organizations Developing and implementing public relations to promote student enrollment, and communicating program activities and objectives Performing a variety of clerical duties in support of program activities such as preparing, typing, duplicating, and filing materials Recording information, maintaining records, answering calls, and scheduling activities Participating in regular staff meetings, and assisting with in-service training Preparing and facilitating a variety of programs for youth, adults, and older adults Operating a variety of equipment (agriculture, arts and crafts, and office) Acting as a liaison between parents, staff, and schools Public Speaking Assisting with preparation and facilitation of a variety of programs for youth, adults and older adults/seniors Promoting/marketing FACS classes, programs and trainings at health fairs and countywide events Grade Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field Two years of experience in education or a related field An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered. Valid driver’s license Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing Korean or Vietnamese Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences Experience developing educational, and nutritional programs
