Elementary School Teacher Assistant 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars 796 Lakeview Drive, Gainesville, GA 30501 Lower School Teaching Assistant Lakeview Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in our Elementary School program for the upcoming school year. Lakeview Academy is particularly interested in candidates who loves children, has excellent people skills, and is confident learning new things.

Hours:

35 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 8:00 – 3:00 p.m.) when school is in session Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience working with young children.
• “Can do” attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to receive feedback and engage in continuous self-improvement.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing work environment.
• Ability to build positive relationships with all important constituencies.
• Certified in CPR or eligible to be certified in CPR prior to working with children. Duties
• Assist in the supervision of students both in the classroom and during outdoor activities.
• Assist in organizing and preparing materials for instruction.
• Help reinforce skills in small groups or with individual students.
• Lead small group activities as directed by the Lead Teacher.
• Ensure that children are playing safely on outdoor equipment.
• Ensure that the classroom is left clean and organized.
• Assist in preparing bulletin boards and newsletters.
• Communicate with Teacher if there are concerns or questions.
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, words, and actions.
• Perform routine additional duties as needed.
• Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or crouching.
• Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary, e.g. supplies and books; light, e.g. children’s bookbags and personal belongings; medium, e.g. the average weight of a pre-K child; heavy, e.g. the average weight of a pre-K child removed from a car seat during carpool.
