$14.00-16.50/hour Position Summary Co-Curricular Lead Teachers and Program Assistants facilitate program activities and supervise students. This is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring educators or for those who love working with children. This is a part-time, seasonal, non-exempt, non-benefited position. After-school programs are open Monday-Friday from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. (earlier start on early release days). Approximately 15-20 hours per week. Duties & Responsibilities Supervise up to 20 students in a classroom setting.
Facilitate homework, recess, and activities.
Present lessons from the provided themed, classical curriculum.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with academy staff and administration.
Maintain a state licensed program.
Substitute at another campus when needed.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths Some college preferred but not required. The successful candidate will be a principled, professional leader with an independent work ethic and a heart of service to others. They must demonstrate sound business judgment and wisdom dealing with people. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be at least 17 years of age. Some experience preferred but not required. First aid/CPR certification preferred but not required. Additional Requirements Successful completion of fingerprinting and background check with Louisiana State Police is required.

Physical functions:

Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.

Travel required:

May need to travel locally to academies within the Baton Rouge area.
