Full Job Description Job Title:
Teachers Assistant Classroom Support :
Assist the teacher in preparing and adapting lesson materials to meet the diverse needs of students with exceptionalities, including setting up specialized equipment or resources as required.
Student Assistance :
Provide direct support to students with exceptionalities during classroom activities, ensuring they understand tasks and can participate to the best of their ability.
Behavioral Support :
Help manage behavior by implementing strategies outlined by the teacher or special education team, and assist in de-escalating situations to maintain a positive learning environment.
Individualized Instruction :
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who require extra attention or alternative learning strategies, reinforcing lessons and providing personalized assistance.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring :
Assist in assessing students’ progress and development, including observing and documenting behavior, academic performance, and social interactions as directed by the teacher or special education team.
Communication and Collaboration :
Support communication between the teacher, parents/guardians, and other professionals involved in the student’s education, providing updates on progress and discussing strategies for support.
Adaptive Technology and Resources :
Assist in utilizing and troubleshooting adaptive technologies and specialized resources that facilitate learning for students with exceptionalities.
Promoting Inclusion and Engagement :
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students with exceptionalities feel valued and encouraged to participate actively in learning activities.
Professional Development :
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in supporting students with exceptionalities and stay updated on best practices in special education.
