Assistant Infant Teacher:
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervision and Safety:

Monitor infants at all times to ensure their safety and well-being. Maintain proper ratios and adhere to center policies regarding supervision. Follow all health and safety procedures (diapering, sanitizing, handwashing).

Caregiving Tasks:

Assist with feeding (bottles and solid food, depending on age). Change diapers and maintain cleanliness. Put infants down for naps following sleep schedules. Soothe and comfort babies as needed.

Supporting Development:

Engage infants in age-appropriate sensory, motor, and language activities. Encourage tummy time, reaching, grasping, babbling, and other developmental milestones. Support the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities.

Communication:

Provide daily updates to parents on feeding, diapering, sleep, and behavior. Communicate any concerns or observations about development to the lead teacher or director. Work as a team with other staff members to provide consistent care.

Classroom Maintenance:

Assist in cleaning and sanitizing toys, mats, cribs, and other classroom materials. Maintain a tidy and organized classroom. Ensure all items are labeled and properly stored.

Emotional Support:

Build trust with infants by responding to their cues with love and patience. Foster a calm and caring environment. Comfort infants when they are upset or distressed.

Other Duties May Include:

Attending staff meetings and training. Assisting with documentation and record-keeping. Substituting for the lead teacher if needed (with proper credentials). Helping prepare materials for daily activities. Qualifications Experience working with infants and toddlers in a daycare or classroom setting Strong understanding of early childhood education principles Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred Knowledge of child development and special education practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children and families

$10.00 – $18.00 per hour
