Broussard and Lafayette Qualifications Teachers must have a CDA or college degree in education or related field or currently enrolled in a program to obtain one. Teacher assistants must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a public or private school, a licensed preschool or early childhood center Must have strong communication skills Must be able to work with others Must be dependable Must have an understanding of child development and child behaviors Must have a valid CPR certification or be willing to complete certification in the first 30 days Must pass a criminal background check Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and engaging students in educational activities. Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning environment and addressing behavioral issues. Provide individual attention to children, fostering their development and addressing specific needs. Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom. Participate in 12 hours of professional development opportunities annually to enhance skills in early childhood education. Follow all Gifted Early Learning Academy policies
