CLASS Early Childhood Observer- St. Tammany and surrounding parishes Cecil J. Picard Center for Child Development & Lifelong Learning Covington, LA 70433 The Cecil J. Picard Center for Child Development & Lifelong Learning at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has an opening for a part-time CLASS-Act observer across the state of Louisiana with specific areas of need in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes (including City of Bogalusa).

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (birth to pre-K) OR Bachelor’s degree in another field plus a minimum of two years’ experience working with children from birth to age five Professional writing and observation experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in computer use and digital documentation Reliable transportation and willingness to travel Access to a computer and internet

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified CLASS observer in Infant, Toddler, and/or Pre-K-3rd

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in all required initial training, calibration sessions, and ongoing professional development Conduct classroom observations, including: Traveling to assigned locations Completing 2-hour observation sessions Submitting detailed observation notes and summary statements in accordance with Picard Center standards
