Preschool Assistant Teacher 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 5057 W Park Ave, Houma, LA 70364 Afternoon Shift 12:30-5:30/Some mornings shifts available
Duties:
1. Help bring supplies to the room. 2. Help with bathroom/diapers, wash hands and faces as needed. 3. Help with snack set-up and clean-up. 4. Clean tables and floors as needed. 5. Help clean up plates after lunch. 6. Get art supplies, wash hands, put on paint shirts, read an occasional story, participate in music and chapel sessions, etc. 7. Demonstrate appropriate play with table toys and especially during Free Play/Center Time. Encourage and have FUN! 8. On a daily basis record injury upon entry reports first thing in the morning and check backpacks for payments, notes, etc. 9. Empty the trash at designated time. 10. Lay out mats at designated time. 11. Occasionally prepare and present a lesson or art project to the class.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in day care facility
- Experience working with students, preferably in a daycare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior
- Patience and empathy when working with children
