Parker Middle School Description:
The successful candidate will work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Interest in working with students with exceptionalities is required and work with an Applied Behavior Analysis approach is preferred but not mandatory. Training will be provided for the right candidate. Position involves working 1:1 and/or with small groups of students in a sub-separate special education classroom and/or within the inclusion general education setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be ABA trained (Applied Behavior Analysis) or be willing to be trained.
Knowledge and understanding of ASD disability.
Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
Knowledge of special education procedures.
Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the identified school level: elementary, middle or high school.
Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, socially in the school setting
Assist students with toileting as needed.
Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers.
Ability to collect data consistently.
Ability to consistently implement procedures of a behavior support plan.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
