The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and special education staff to facilitate individualized education plans (IEPs) and create an inclusive learning environment. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. Duties Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Support students in their daily activities, ensuring they are engaged and participating in classroom tasks. Help develop and adapt curriculum materials that are accessible for all learners. Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers regarding student performance and engagement. Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to ensure a collaborative approach to education. Implement strategies for classroom management that promote a positive learning environment. Assist with personal care and daily living skills as needed, including toddler care for younger students. Participate in training sessions related to special education practices, IEP development, and childhood development. Qualifications Experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities or developmental delays. Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and strategies for supporting individuals on the spectrum. Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for diverse learners. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, educators, and families. Ability to manage classroom dynamics while providing individualized support to students. A commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment that respects the unique needs of each student.
