Jefferson City School District Middle and High Learning Support School Paraprofessional 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 501 Monroe Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support educators in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in daycare or educational settings, and possess a strong understanding of childhood development. This role is essential in assisting teachers with lesson planning, behavior management, and supporting students with diverse needs. Duties Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to individual student needs. Provide support to students in both academic and social settings, fostering a positive learning atmosphere. Engage with children during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior among students. Support students with disabilities by adapting materials and providing individualized assistance. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Collaborate with educators to assess student progress and develop strategies for improvement. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to childhood education. Requirements Previous experience working with children in daycare or educational settings is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices. Familiarity with lesson planning techniques and educational methodologies such as Montessori is a plus. Strong behavior management skills to effectively support diverse learners. Experience working with students with disabilities is highly desirable. Ability to provide toddler care when necessary, ensuring the safety and engagement of young learners. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff members. A passion for educating children and contributing positively to their development.
