$16.26/hour – $17.68/hour (Depending on education)

JOB SUMMARY

The Special Education Paraprofessional – Transition Room supports the instructional and behavioral programming of a specialized classroom serving students with Social and Emotional disabilities. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher and in collaboration with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the paraprofessional assists in implementing behavior intervention strategies, delivering individualized and small-group instruction, and supporting students in developing the social-emotional and behavioral skills necessary to successfully transition to general education settings. The role also includes general classroom support duties to assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. This position is essential to the district’s vision of fostering acceptance, diversity, and inclusion for all learners. The Transition Room is designed as a temporary, supportive environment that equips students with the behavioral, emotional, and academic tools they need to succeed in inclusive settings. As a paraprofessional in this program, you will help implement this vision by supporting student growth, promoting social-emotional learning, and contributing to a culture of acceptance and inclusion Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or paraprofessional certification preferred. Prior experience working with students with behavioral or emotional needs strongly preferred. Ability to implement behavior support strategies and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to fostering inclusive practices and supporting diverse learners. Physical ability to perform duties that may include standing for long periods, lifting, or supporting students with physical needs.
