Assistant Toddler Teacher (Part-time) Position Available In St. Louis City, Missouri

Assistant Toddler Teacher (Part-time) 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 6500 Arsenal Street, St. Louis, MO 63139 Creative Nursery and Preschool is seeking an energetic, positive, patient, loving, responsible and reliable individual to assist with all functions of the child care program in our Toddler (1-year old) room. The ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience in a child care program and preferably, some college coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a closely related field. Following are a few examples of the kind of care our program provides:

• Nurture and support the development of the children in the program
• Enter details of the day into the Brightwheel app
• Communicate with parents at pick-up
• Utilize redirection and positive discipline
• Diaper children followed by cleaning and sanitizing and/or supervise toilet-trained children
• Serve snack followed by cleaning and sanitizing tables/chairs
• Supervise outdoor play period
• Engage them in group activities (story-time, table activities, etc) after outdoor play
• Sanitize toys and other daycare equipment and complete end of day clean-up duties
• Other duties as required The position is M-F from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM for a total of 15 hours a week.

The hourly rate is $16.00 per hour. Fringe benefits for part-time positions include paid vacation (2 weeks and 2 days plus 10 paid holidays.) Additional hours may also be available by subbing in other classrooms as needed. Physical requirements include an ability to lift and carry young children, the ability to get down on the floor and up again quickly and easily and the general ability to perform the duties listed above. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Punctuality and reliability are of the utmost importance. Excessive lateness or absences will result in termination. Mistreatment of the children of any sort (physical, verbal, emotional or otherwise) or neglecting to provide the appropriate care of children will result in immediate termination. Excessive personal cell phone use will not be tolerated and will face disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Employees who create a negative environment for the children in the program or other staff members (excessive gossip, complaining, general negativity) will face disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
