Job Title:
Teacher Assistant – English Language Learners (ELL)
Job Summary:
The Teacher Assistant for English Language Learners (ELL) supports classroom teachers and ELL students by providing instructional assistance, language development support, and cultural guidance in a K-12 public school setting. This role includes working one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce lessons, assisting with assessments, and helping students develop English proficiency. Additionally, the Teacher Assistant will assist with maintaining accurate records and completing federal and state-mandated paperwork related to ELL student progress and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Support ELL students in acquiring English language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials to meet students’ language needs.
Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts.
Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
Assist in translating and communicating with students and families as needed.
Maintain and organize documentation required for federal and state ELL program compliance.
Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure ELL students receive appropriate academic and social support.
