1. Associate’s degree or a minimum of 48 semester college credit hours 2. Experience in an office environment with responsibility for a variety of clerical duties 3. N/A Job Goal :
To act as the school’s liaison for student academic data, ensure proper procedures for maintaining accurate student records, efficiently manage student enrollment, and ensure compliance with student information requirements.
Performance Responsibilities :
Follows all rules, policies, and procedures of Carteret County Public Schools, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to special education. Maintains student academic records and transcripts in accordance with North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) regulations and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines. Manages new student enrollment, transfers, and withdrawals, including collecting and distributing cumulative records. Supports the scheduling process and collaborates with counselors and administrative staff for student placement. Monitors graduation progress and ensures accurate issuance of diplomas and transcripts. Processes requests for records from schools, parents, colleges, and government agencies. Maintains accurate student data in the student information system and ensures timely reporting for audits and compliance. Assists in preparing school accountability reports and supporting district/state audits. Maintains confidentiality in handling sensitive student information. Performs various clerical, secretarial, and general office assistance duties. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors. Eleven-month year/At will/FLSA Non-Exempt Starting Salary and/or
Grade:
Salary based on state salary scale.
Evaluation :
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on the Evaluation of Support Personnel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information. Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to read a variety of correspondence, reports, handbooks, forms, lists, etc. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with school personnel, students, and parents while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies and statutes. Physical ability (able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, such as walking, lifting, stooping, standing, grasping, kneeling, crouching, and key-requiring repetitive motions.
