This position instructs classes, promotes safety andhealth education, and supports design and implementation of anall-inclusive wellness program that addresses the components ofphysical fitness and health related to the geriatric community. POSITION SUMMARY
: Implementation of wellness programming anddelivery of wellness classes according to the specific needs /programs of the campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:
- Maintains HIPAAstandards and regards all medical or healthcare informationpertaining to residents and employees as confidential.
- Implementsstandards of exercise, wellness and senior health on the campuswhile operating the wellness components in accordance with theestablished policies and procedures of the governing body incompliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Designs andleads fitness based classes specific to the campus population.
Instructs classes or routines based on the determined level, healthand mobility of the resident in order for the resident to gain inphysical / mental health or to maintain current physical or mentalstatus.
- Ensures the safety and proper progression of residentsparticipating in all responsible classes.
- Maintains dailyattendance records for all classes and progression of residentsparticipating in the classes instructed. Reports this data to theWellness Director.
- Assists residents in transferring orambulating as necessary to participate in wellness classes.
- Participates in and attends all in-service training and educationprograms as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.

Full Physical Demands, Work Environment, andExpected Hours of Work:
The physical demands described here arerepresentative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Thisposition is very active and requires frequent standing, walking,bending, kneeling, stooping and climbing.
- This position will berequired to lift or carry weight up to 50 lbs. and ability to pushup to 250 pounds independently.
- The individual must use properbody mechanics to assist residents in their daily living.
- Thisposition regularly requires long hours and frequent night andweekend work.
TRAVEL:
No travel is expected, although occasionaltravel may be required for training sessions, continuing educationopportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school education orequivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Willingnessto learn and implement wellness. Assist Wellness Director withaward winning classes. Work with residents to live longer,healthier, happier lives. Maintain HIPPA standard. Ability to read,write, speak and understand English fluently. Ability to meet orexceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards. Abilityto use Electronic Records and miscellaneous software and officeequipment. Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
