Instructional Assistant Durham Pre K/NC Pre K White Rock Child Development Center 3400 Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC 27707 Job Summary Come join White Rock Child Development Center as we provide and promote quality, early education for children ages 3-5 in a warm, healthy environment conducive to each child’s development and enrichment! White Rock Child Development Center, a five star, NAEYC accredited center, has been a foundation of early education for many young learners since August, 1998. We are currently seeking an Instructional Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist with providing primary care and safety for children Assist with planning and implementing appropriate activities for children each day Assist with participating in the observation and evaluation of each child’s progress and complete developmental assessments, as required Assist with conducting family conferences for each child Work cooperatively with staff members, administration, and families Assist with maintaining written record of lesson plans Actively participate in all trainings and staff meetings Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Required Education & Experience:
B.S. Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field Minimum of 3 years teaching experience First Aid, BBP, & CPR training for children and adults
Required Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of child development principles and young children Knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum planning using Creative Curriculum for Preschool Knowledge of creating and maintaining child portfolios electronically using Teaching Strategies GOLD Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, families and coworkers Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written communications. Bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are a plus Ability to be flexible
