Therapeutic Paraprofessional 2nd Shift As Needed Successful Transitions LLC High Point, NC Paraprofessional will and aid in maintaining a therapeutic environment while supervising youths in a residential setting. The Paraprofessional will assist the consumer with acquiring therapeutic skills that will lead to self management of symptoms associated with their diagnosis. Depending on the services the consumer may be receiving, the services may be rendered in the consumer’s home, community and at times in areas that are unpleasant. Various Skill Building Activities Training of caregiver • Daily and Community Living Skills Socialization Skills Adaptation Skills Symptom Monitoring and Management Skills Substance abuse Education Actively supervise the consumers at all times to include one staff being visible to the consumers at all times; when in office the staff must utilize the camera monitor to assist the co-staff with supervision. (Eyes On Supervision) Therapeutic mentoring Behavior and anger management techniques Participating in service planning meetings Providing structure and consistency as treatment programs are followed Complete daily progress notes on each clientEnsure that facility chores are completed; if consumers do not complete chores, staff is expected to have them completed Conduct weekly monitoring of the water temperature (Group Home) Adhere to staff chores as outlined in House Rules (Group Home)
