About Us:
Mountain Breeze Preschool is a peaceful and playful program serving children 3-5 years old, nestled in the mountains of Madison County. We practice neo humanistic values of whole child learning, universal love, nature, yoga, and meditation. We have two indoor classrooms, a large playground, and a forest trail. We spend a lot of time exploring nature in all weather and getting muddy. We strive to make sure each child feels safe, loved, and understood. We endeavor to help children be kindergarten ready with language, emotional intelligence, and emotional regulation tools. We are a five star licensed facility and follow all regulations of the North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education (NCDCDEE). We recently received grants from the NCDCDEE to expand our school, and opened out new classroom in April.
Job Summary:
We are seeking two passionate and dedicated Assistant Preschool Teachers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for children, nature, and meditation and help create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. You will be responsible for helping to implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote exploration, creativity, a love for learning, and neo humanistic values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Help facilitate play-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity and exploration.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to support a strong community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Help children learn to navigate conflict in an effective, empathetic, age appropriate way.
- Explore our playground and forest trail safely while helping foster a love of nature.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom that reflects children’s work and interests.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and community events.
- Make morning snack
Qualifications:
You must be at least 16 years of age. All assistant teachers must take EDU 119 (Introduction to Early Childhood Education) within the first six months of employment. We can assist with grants for this course and others or assist with reimbursement programs. In some circumstances, you could even be paid to take the course.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children (3-5 years preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Creative, patient, and passionate about early childhood education.
- A love of children
- Knowledge of child development and empathy and understanding for stages of development. (we can train) The following is required for our licensing. We can help you obtain these items.
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification
- Criminal background check
- Negative TB test
- Form from a doctor stating you are physically and mentally able to work with children
- 15 hours health and safety training with in the first year
- 16 hour orientation
- EDU 119 We hope to open our new classroom on January 6th, 2025.
Prior to the start date, we will have a paid two week training
