Permanent Montessori Substitute Omni Montessori School Charlotte, NC 28277 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Permanent Montessori Substitute. In this role, you will be an integral member of the school faculty and work daily on campus, providing classroom coverage as needed while upholding the values and practices of Montessori education. This role requires the flexibility to support Primary through Elementary classrooms, a warm and respectful presence with children, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Montessori-trained guides and staff. Duties Serve as a daily, on-site substitute for lead or assistant guides in classrooms across Primary and Elementary Programs. Maintain the structure, tone, and expectations of the Montessori classroom in the absence of the regular guide or assistant Follow lesson plans or guidance left by the regular guide or assistant, with an understanding of Montessori principles and practices. Provide continuity of care and support for students, ensuring a calm, respectful, and purposeful environment. Build trusting relationships with students and colleagues, demonstrating consistency and professionalism. Participate in school-wide events, faculty meetings, and ongoing professional development. Support general campus supervision duties (e.g., arrival, dismissal, lunch, and outdoor time) as assigned and as needed. Make Montessori materials as assigned. Skills Bachelor’s degree required; background in education or child development preferred. A deep respect for children required. Experience working with students in private school settings is preferred. Prior experience working with children in a Montessori setting preferred. Demonstrated classroom management abilities to maintain order and focus during lessons. Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills. Flexibility, reliability, adaptability and the ability to take initiative. Ability to work effectively with a variety of age groups and teams.
