Job Description
The Teacher Assistant supports classroom instruction and fosters a learning environment that promotes school readiness for preschool children. Responsibilities include assisting in curriculum implementation, maintaining classroom discipline, supporting assessments, and engaging families. The role also involves ensuring classroom safety, managing records, and stepping in during teacher absences.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assist in delivering educational experiences and implementing curriculum aligned with school readiness goals
- Support classroom management and help maintain a clean, safe learning environment
- Conduct assessments and track children’s developmental progress
- Engage with families and assist in conferences and home visits
- Perform general support duties across all Head Start service areas.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential preferred
- Strong communication skills, ability to work with children, and willingness to accept supervision.
