THE STARTING SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS LIMITED TO
$37,782 – $46,650. Salary offers for the selected candidate are based on the candidate’s education and experience related to the position, as well as our agency budget and equity.
The primary purpose of this position is to support training coordinators in their responsibilities to develop and update courses and to manage the office including the flow of information thus providing administrative as well as clerical support.
This position requires significant public contact with the Academy’s customer population in developing and implementing state-wide mandated in-service training. Receive calls for specific training centers of the North Carolina Justice Academy. Calls received from sheriff’s departments, police departments, state legal justice agencies, and other state agencies such as the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, Governor’s Highway Safety Commission, and Highway Department. Information is given concerning departmental and Academy course offerings, course prerequisites, course requirements, course equipment, and course material.
This position is responsible for creating, reviewing, and updating Rosters, Policies & Procedures Manuals, Certificates, Course Schedules, Supply Requisition, Contracts, correspondences, etc.
This position is responsible for filing and ingoing/outgoing mail.

The mission of the North Carolina Justice Academy (NCJA) is to improve the quality and effectiveness of criminal justice services to the citizens of North Carolina through research, education, training, and support to criminal justice and related personnel.
Department Information:
The North Carolina Department of Justice, led by the Attorney General of North Carolina, represents the state, state agencies, and elected officials, and defends the rights of the people of North Carolina. The Department handles all state criminal appeals cases and assists district attorneys with complex criminal cases at their request. Additionally, the Department of Justice includes the North Carolina State Crime Lab, the North Carolina Justice Academy, and the Sheriffs’ and Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Divisions. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
