Teacher Assistant NorthPoint Christian Academy 8120 Kensington Drive, Waxhaw, NC 28173 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. This role is essential in supporting teachers in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for classroom settings. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with children, assisting them in their daily activities and fostering their development through play and structured learning. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of children. Support children in their daily routines and transitions between activities. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and social interaction among students. Monitor children’s progress and behavior, providing feedback to the lead teacher on individual needs and achievements. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom space conducive to learning. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress and any concerns that may arise. Experience Previous experience in classroom settings is highly desirable. Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus. Familiarity with early childhood education principles, including childhood development milestones. Experience in roles such as nannying, babysitting, or childcare is beneficial.
