Our mission is to provide young children and their families in eastern Wake County access to quality preschool and a network of educational and developmental resources. Our vision is that one day, every child will reach school age with a strong foundation, ready to succeed. East Wake Education Foundation is hiring a preschool teacher for our community programs with a background in early childhood education who wants to join our team and make a valuable contribution to young children in our communities. Job Description EWEF is looking to hire an assistant preschool teacher that has a background in early childhood education. The assistant teacher will help prepare activities and implement lesson plans, interact with children and parents while in the center, and assist with light administrative duties. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Two or more years of experience with young children or in an early childhood education setting preferred, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices Fluent in Spanish Preferred CPR/First Aid Certification Preferred Basic Computer Skills Required Able to pass a background check The Ideal Candidate The ability and desire to provide quality, nurturing care to children enrolled in the program Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with parents/caregivers An eagerness to learn and the ability to implement new skills and expertise The ability to work independently, stay organized, take initiative, and make appropriate judgment calls The ability to work alongside programming staff to support families and facilitate daily programming
- Assist in setting up and breaking down a classroom each session
- Ability to lift 30lbs, stand, stoop, kneel, and sit on the floor as needed
- Implement summer programming at our Wendell location
- Prepare materials and activities for weekly programming
- Assist in identifying and recruiting families for programming Schedule Regular work schedule Monday through Thursday 8:30 am -1:30 pm (20 hours per week) Occasional events outside of normal working hours (Notice will be given in advance of dates and times) We are a twelve-month program Pay and benefits

Education & Experience:
$15 to $17 an hour
- Part Time staff also receive four paid holidays throughout the year
