Assistant Teacher (5 day 3s class)

Genesis Christian Preschool:

We are a half-day preschool. Our school starts in September and goes through May. Teacher planning starts the last week of August.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our preschool team for our Monday/ Wednesday ones program and to help our 4s program on Fridays. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the lead teacher to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment where young children can thrive and develop foundational skills, while also integrating Christian values into daily activities and interactions.

Responsibilities:

Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily lessons and activities that promote the intellectual, social, and spiritual growth of children aged 1 year old and 4 years old. Support classroom management by helping to maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment. Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to children as directed by the lead teacher. Assist with meal and snack times, outdoor play, and transition periods. Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to ensure effective communication and teamwork. Provide quality education, care, and teaching Christian values to young children.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in early childhood education or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with young children, particularly in a preschool or daycare setting. Understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning activities. Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with children. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
