Assistant Teacher Location:
The Capital Church, 1308 US 70
W, Garner, NC Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-4:15 PM; One Friday/month (4 hrs) Reports to: Lead Teacher Oak City Academy is seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Teacher for our Blended Elementary Program. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with children, values a peaceful and purposeful classroom environment, and is eager to support lead teachers using Montessori-inspired and Classical practices.

Classroom Support:
Assist the lead teacher in guiding students through daily routines and Montessori work Monitor and support student behavior, especially during work cycles and enrichment Step in as lead teacher when needed (with a substitute present) Support students during transitions, recess, carpool, snack, and bathroom breaks
Classroom Environment:
Prepare and maintain a peaceful, beautiful learning environment each day Help clean and reset the classroom at the end of each school day Take attendance and help manage daily classroom logistics
Collaboration & Communication:
Participate in team meetings and professional development Support administrative tasks as directed by the lead teacher Attend two school-wide Parent Community events annually
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience working with children is preferred Demonstrates emotional maturity and patience Able to sit on the floor, kneel, and bend to interact with children Comfortable using student information and communication platforms (training provided) Must be aligned with OCA’s Statement of Faith and mission
Additional Info:
This is a 10-month position (follows the academic calendar). The position requires physical stamina, a love for children, and the ability to maintain classroom order and calm under the leadership of a lead teacher. Professional development and spiritual growth opportunities are included.

$16.00 – $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
