Administrative Assistant of Student Support Services (Part-time) 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 1328 South Collegiate Dr, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 Posting Details Position Information Job Title Administrative Assistant of Student Support Services (Part-time) Job Description This is a 12-month part-time position (28 hours per week) in the Student Services Division which reports to the Student Support Services Director. The Student Support Admin provides administrative duties to Disability Services, Counseling, Access to Achievement, Career Services, and Student Life.

Full Time or Part Time Part Time Essential Duties Summary Duties Include:

Greeting and welcoming students into the department; answering questions and sharing contact information for team members if not available. Maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment. Submitting orders, travel authorization forms, purchasing, and reimbursement requests. Providing support for intellectual or developmental disability (IDD) budget. Assisting with events when requested, including College Connections, Transition Fairs, Job Fairs, Counseling events, Career Services events, and Student Activities events. Traveling on occasion to Ashe Campus, Alleghany Center, and area high schools. Coordinating with the Marketing Department to create materials and distributing marketing materials for the department to the public and walk-ins. Entering data into the Access to Achievement database and Disability Services database as needed. Upholding students’ rights to privacy and confidentiality regarding the use and release of records while maintaining compliance with laws, rules, and regulations. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Disability Services or Director of Student Support Services/Counselor. Required Qualifications High School Diploma and at least 5 years of recent administrative assistant experience or an associate’s degree in a related field. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, organizational and time management skills. Ability to work within a team, and Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and students Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands The work environment is primarily an office setting with occasional requirements to attend events, meetings, or other engagements off-site. The role may involve occasional evening or weekend work to meet deadlines or attend college events. The position requires strong written and verbal communication and administrative and organizational skills. Must be able to work under pressure and handle all confidential matters with discretion. Essential functions of this position require lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Mental Application:

Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Medium work : Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting for long periods for meetings.
