Category Schools – Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract About the Role We’re recruiting experienced special education teachers for virtual positions with New Hampshire school districts. As a trusted partner in educational staffing, we connect qualified professionals with schools needing remote special education support. This position offers the opportunity to work with elementary students requiring intensive support services while enjoying the flexibility of remote work. Position Specifications Full-time hours (35-37.5 per week) supporting K-5 students in adapted education programs. Typical caseload includes 8-12 students in intensive support settings, with additional case management for 30-40 students in supplemental programs. Focus areas include autism support, intellectual disabilities, and multiple disabilities requiring significant adaptations. Essential Functions Design specialized curriculum for students with significant cognitive disabilities Implement evidence-based practices for autism spectrum disorders Develop visual schedules, social stories, and communication supports Guide paraprofessionals in implementing behavior support plans Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop intervention strategies Collaborate with speech, OT, and PT providers for integrated services Create adapted materials supporting alternative assessment participation Maintain detailed progress monitoring documentation Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Special Education or equivalent field Minimum 2 years experience with intensive special education populations New Hampshire special education certification (K-8 or K-12) Specialized training in autism interventions preferred Experience with alternative communication systems Proficiency in creating visual supports and adapted materials Strong behavior management skills Home office meeting requirements for confidential virtual sessions How to Connect We’re actively building our candidate pool for upcoming placements.
