As a Paraprofessional, you will work alongside teachers to support students’ academic and behavioral needs, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
Assist the teacher in providing instruction and support to students, including small group and one-on-one assistance. Work with students who have diverse learning needs, providing individualized support as necessary. Implement and support the execution of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and other accommodations. Help students with academic tasks, classwork, and homework. Maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment. Supervise students during non-classroom activities (e.g., lunch, recess, field trips). Track student progress and assist in maintaining records and documentation. Communicate regularly with the teacher and other staff members about student performance and needs. Provide support to students with behavioral and emotional challenges, fostering their growth and development. Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required (Associates degree or higher is a plus). Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred. Knowledge or experience working with students with special needs is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to be patient, flexible, and adaptable in a classroom environment. Must pass a background check and meet any state-required qualifications.
