Affordable Housing Program Assistant:

As the Affordable Housing Program Assistant you will work as part of the team performing assigned administrative, compliance and operational duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to clerical tasks, interactions with property tenants, reviewing documents, obtaining signatures, mailing applications, and explaining the Affordable Housing program and properties managed by CAPBM.

Your day will involve:

Preparing application documentation, updating information, sending and receiving document for prospective and existing tenants Maintaining cash receipts records Preparing tenant data for Initial, Annual, and Interim Certifications. Completing purchase orders Provide administrative support to Director such as scanning, copying, and faxing documents as needed Receiving rent checks and filling out deposit slips Visiting properties to collect rent checks from the drop box Returning calls to applicants, tenants, vendors, and other general callers Preparing Annual Recertification Notices and packets Your role will directly contribute to a positive participant experience.

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalency credential

Experience:

Two years of experience in a business environment

Skills:

Possess excellent writing and general office skills. Ability to recognize/identify and troubleshoot problem areas and recommend corrective action

Characteristics:

Attention to detail, self-disciplined, dependability meeting deadlines, and high level of organizational abilities. Strong desire to assist elderly and/or disabled persons in a subsidized housing environment.
