education setting. This role requires a trauma-informed approach, knowledge of project-based
learning, and curriculum support. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and inclusive learning
environment while incorporating extended learning opportunities tailored to the student’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one support to a student, assisting with academic tasks, social-emotional
  • growth, and behavioral interventions.
  • Implement a trauma-informed approach by recognizing and responding to students’ emotional and behavioral needs with sensitivity and patience.
  • Support project-based learning initiatives, helping the student engage in hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
  • Assist in delivering and adapting curriculum content to meet the student’s individualized learning plan (ILP) or Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Promote extended learning opportunities by integrating community-based learning, vocational experiences, and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Utilize positive behavior support strategies to encourage student engagement and personal growth.
  • Foster a safe and structured learning environment tailored to the student’s needs.
  • Assist with daily classroom activities, including organization, materials preparation, and reinforcing instructional content.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold district policies and procedures related to student privacy and well-being.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience working in an alternative education setting, special education, or student support role.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and experience working with students who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
  • Familiarity with project-based learning and hands-on instructional strategies.
  • Understanding of curriculum differentiation and ability to modify learning materials for individual student needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, educators, and families.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement and restorative practices.
  • A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or training in trauma-informed practices, behavior intervention strategies, or special education.
  • Experience with alternative education models, vocational training, or community-based learning programs.
  • Understanding of extended learning opportunities, including experiential education, job coaching, and service learning.
Work Schedule:
  • Full-time position aligned with the 2025-2026 academic year.
