Job Description
Newport School District is seeking a supportive and dependable Instructional Aide to assist in the delivery of instruction for high school students enrolled in the Summer Credit Recovery Program. This role provides classroom and individual support to students working to recover academic credits in core subjects such as Math, English, Science, and Social Studies.

Key Responsibilities:

Support classroom teachers by assisting students with assignments, technology use, and organization.
Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning and promote engagement.
Assist in maintaining a positive, safe, and focused learning environment.
Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the supervising teacher.
Help with classroom setup, materials preparation, and technology troubleshooting.
Supervise students during transitions and breaks.
Follow all program guidelines, school policies, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or paraprofessional certification preferred.
Experience working with adolescents in an educational or youth services setting.
Comfortable with basic academic support across subjects.
