Teacher’s Assistant in Universal Preschool Classroom 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars 242 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052 We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Preschool Teacher’s Assistant to support our Universal Preschool classroom. The ideal candidate is nurturing, reliable, and passionate about early childhood education. You will work closely with the lead teacher to deliver high-quality, play-based instruction that meets the developmental needs of children in a publicly funded preschool setting.

Responsibilities:

Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Universal Preschool standards Support classroom routines and transitions to foster a structured, nurturing learning environment Supervise and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students Help children with self-care tasks such as handwashing, meals, rest time, and toileting Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Encourage positive social-emotional development and model respectful behavior Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families Participate in professional development and team meetings Collaborate with the teaching team to track student progress and meet individual needs

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required) Experience working with preschool-aged children (preferred) Understanding of or willingness to learn Universal Preschool program standards Ability to pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Patient, dependable, and enthusiastic about early childhood development
