Special Needs Bus Aide School Dayz Transportation Old Bridge, NJ 08857 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bus Aide to support students during their transportation to and from school. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in special education settings, and possess strong communication and conflict management skills. The Bus Aide will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students while fostering a positive environment during transit. Duties Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely. Monitor student behavior to ensure a calm and respectful atmosphere. Provide support to students with special needs, including those requiring behavioral management. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any issues or concerns. Educate students on bus safety rules and proper conduct while on the bus. Administer first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies. Collaborate with the bus driver to ensure a smooth and efficient transportation process. Maintain a clean and organized bus environment. Requirements Experience working with students, particularly in special education or childcare settings. Strong conflict management skills to address any behavioral issues that may arise. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children of various ages. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support student needs. Certification in first aid is preferred but not required; training may be provided. A passion for educating and supporting children in their daily activities.
