Job Description
Assistant Director of Teacher Education 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 36 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ 07940 Drew University is seeking an Assistant Director of Teacher Education in the Education department. The Assistant Director will oversee all aspects of experiential programs in the Education department, including managing external partnerships, advising students, and supervising adjunct and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain partnerships with New Jersey public schools Manage external partnerships and grants related to experiential programs Establish an Advisory Council and run meetings on a regular basis Coordinate all aspects of curriculum and fieldwork for experiential certification programs, including supervision of field supervisors and training for cooperating teachers Participate in data analysis needed for accreditation and continuous program improvement Ensure candidates have met requirements for certification Train and evaluate adjuncts Work collaboratively with department staff to ensure parity across programs Teach no more than 2 academic courses per year and facilitate all fieldwork courses Advise students as needed
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree (doctorate preferred) 5 years of K-12 and/or postsecondary experience in a leadership role Familiarity and comfort leading and collaborating with diverse populations of stakeholders Experience presenting professional development workshops to educators Facility with various technologies and ability to learn new technologies quickly Experience organizing events and supervising others List the minimum academic requirements for this position: Bachelors required, Masters, preferred Master’s degree required (doctorate preferred) List the minimum years of practical, relevant experience required for this position (use bulleted) 5 years of K-12 and/or postsecondary experience in a leadership role How to
