Assistant Toddler Teacher Bright Future Learning Academy 214 Lackawanna Avenue, Woodland Park, NJ 07424 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher for our toddler classroom. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. As an Assistant Teacher, you will be responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curricula and engaging activities that promote learning through play. Your role will also involve collaborating with parents and caregivers to support each child’s growth and development. Duties Assist with developing and implement lesson plans that align with the Teaching strategies Objectives for Development and Learning. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment for the toddler children. Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social skills and emotional well-being. Monitor and assess children’s progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs. Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child’s development and classroom activities. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including first aid protocols. Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a positive learning atmosphere. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience for students. Skills Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices. Experience working with toddlers or in a childcare setting. Proficiency in classroom management techniques to maintain an orderly environment. Ability to provide care for toddlers, ensuring their safety and comfort. Familiarity with working with Creative Curriculum and lesson planning is a plus. Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staff. First aid certification is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain the Child Development Associate (CDA )credential is essential. Creativity in developing engaging activities that promote learning through play.
