Westfield Day Care Center (WDCC) is a premier private child care located in the heart of downtown Westfield, NJ! With over 50 years of service, we pride ourselves on providing a quality child care program with affordable rates to not only the families of Westfield, but our neighboring towns as well. WDCC is currently seeking a dedicated assistant/substitute teacher who will play an important role within our school and community. We are looking for a candidate who is willing and able to work from 10am-6pm Monday through Friday beginning in September 2025 for the 25/26 school year. Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

• Provide consistent support to the classroom lead teachers and school management
• Work as a team and build a good co-worker repour
• Work closely with students and families to ensure a high quality preschool environment
• Establish positive family relationships
• Ensure that daily information is entered and tracked using our school wide online communication portal
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
• Follow all WDCC policies and procedures
• Maintain yearly training hours based on the requirements for state licensing

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma (Associate’s Degree is HIGHLY preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years working in a fully state licensed child care center
• Have or be willing to obtain First Aide and CPR Certification
• Knowledge of NAEYC is preferred
• Must be professional and reliable and understand the importance of consistence in a child care center
• Have basic knowledge of NJ state licensing guidelines
