Job Description:
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Paraprofessionals to join our Extended School Year (ESY) program in New Providence, NJ . This opportunity is perfect for professionals passionate about supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a structured PreK8 special education setting . As a Summer Paraprofessional , you will provide direct classroom and 1:1 support to students with mild to moderate ASD needs. You will assist with academic instruction, behavior support, and personal care as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ages 314) in a substantially separate classroom setting. Assist teachers with implementing IEPs , lesson plans, and behavior strategies. Help manage student behavior using positive reinforcement techniques; CPI-trained candidates preferred. Provide personal care assistance, including toileting for younger students. Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a school setting with students who have developmental and behavioral needs. Strong background in behavior management; CPI certification preferred . Comfortable assisting with toileting and other personal care routines. Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
