Full Job Description Summary:

Albany Area Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support our early childhood education program as a Paraprofessional. This part-time position involves working closely with teachers and students to create a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering the growth and development of young learners.

Responsibilities:

Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities. Support individual students and small groups in their learning and development. Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the teacher. Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment. Facilitate play-based learning and assist with classroom management. Collaborate with teachers and staff to address the diverse needs of students. Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings. Assist with classroom organization, materials preparation, and cleanliness. Engage with parents and caregivers to support student learning at home.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in early childhood education or related field preferred. Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the development of young children. Basic knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices. Ability to lift and assist children as needed. Background check clearance as required by school district policy. Must have or be able to obtain Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Status within 60 days from the start of employment.

Schedule:

7:45am•3:15pm Monday•Friday When school is in session

Wage:

$16.68•$19.74 per hour
