Duties Description Under the direction of the Office of Audit Director, the incumbent will provide support to the
Office of Audit:
Contract Audit Bureau (CAB), Internal Audit Bureau (IAB), Enterprise Risk Management Bureau (ERMB), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Certification Unit (DBE).
Duties will include:
- Conducting procurements for the Office, including reconciling transactions within the Statewide Financial System (e.g., maintaining and ordering office supplies, training materials).
- Coordinating and leading hiring efforts with Office staff including gathering and submitting documents to Human Resources and corresponding with candidates.
- Serving as the point of contact and registering training events for Office staff.
- Leading and coordinating requests for Information technology needs of the Office
- Leading onboarding and offboarding activities for Office staff.
- Serving as the liaison between Office staff and the public.
- Serving as the Records Management Liaison.
- Assisting the DBE Unit with processing and filing correspondence.
- Assisting CAB, IAB and ERMB with administrative functions such as establishing projects, coordinating meetings, proof reading documents and reaching out to internal and external customers.
- Update and maintain Office internal and public internet pages.
- Maintain Office files.
- Perform other administrative or programmatic support activities as assigned by the Bureaus to meet the operational needs of the Office.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations. The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
- To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, or 55 b/c, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position.
The qualifications are 3 years of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment.
Candidates may also be qualified for permanent competitive appointment if reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. - For the duration of the
NY HELPS
Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date, it is expected employees hired under
NY HELPS
will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in an
NY HELPS
title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
