Duties Description Senate Program Assistants work with other departments to publicize these programs, secure Senators’ participation, perform outreach to schools, coordinate materials as needed for various programs, and report on program status to the Director of Senate Services. Program Assistants work in a team environment and coordinate daily with other members of the Senate Services Department, local schools, and Senators’ staff to stay organized ensure programs are successfully managed.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering calls/emails from staff in a timely fashion
- Planning and executing program details as provided by the Director of Senate Services
- Utilizing appropriate computer systems to perform outreach and create organized lists for program details
- Maintaining close working relationships with other Senate Departments
- Working with Program Coordinators on the team to perform outreach, problem solve, brainstorm new ideas, and assist on larger Senate-wide programs
- Meeting attendance requirements as established by the office
- Performing other duties including: proofing documents for programs, setting-up spreadsheets with program details, and additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Senate Services The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy.
Minimum Qualifications The Senate Programs team is seeking two multi-skilled individuals, proficient in Microsoft Office, to provide support to the various programs run by the Senate Services Department to benefit State Senators and students throughout New York State. These programs include, but are not limited to, Summer Reading, Graduation Certificates, Youth Leadership Recognition Awards, Lyme & Tick Awareness, and more.
