Nardin Academy is seeking a Full-Time K-2 Teacher Assistant . The qualified individual must be available to commence employment in August 2025. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Support the Lead Teacher to provide an engaging, positive and nurturing learning environment Possess an understanding of the academic and social emotional learning connection Exhibit kindness and patience while working with young children Able to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Meets professional teacher education requirements of the Academy and NY State. Executes specific curriculum as directed by the Lead Teacher in an appropriate manner. Supports the mission and goals of Nardin Academy. Demonstrate a working knowledge of Google Suite. Performs all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program. Duties and Responsibilities Supports and acts in accordance with the Academy’s mission. Provides an engaging, positive, and supportive learning environment in conjunction with the Lead Teacher. Assist with instruction of whole and small groups. Prepares an environment in conjunction with the Lead Teacher to facilitate the learning needs of all children. Demonstrates planning and preparation for instruction. Upholds professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion. Establishes a professional relationship with parents. Appropriately carries out specific assignments, including but not limited to, service learning, assigned supervision, and other areas as determined by their supervisor. Maintains professional credentials as appropriate. Honors the confidentiality of school and student information. Establishes professional relationships with staff, working cooperatively to meet the needs of the children at all times. Complies with the policies and procedures as articulated by the school’s Faculty Handbook. Engages in self-reflection and annual development of a growth and renewal plan based on the Characteristics of Professional Excellence. a plus Working Conditions The work environment is a classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and/or outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.
