We are a joyful, nurturing space where children ages 2 to 5 are encouraged to grow through play, exploration, and meaningful learning experiences. As part of our Team, you’ll help create a fun, safe, and supportive environment where children feel safe, seen and heard. Position starts September 3rd, 2025

Educational Requirement:

All candidates, who wish to be considered for the position of Assistant Preschool Teacher must meet one of the following criteria , in addition to any/all requirements that may be mandated by licensing authorities: A Child Development Associate Credential or currently pursuing one with proof of current and active enrollment or An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or currently pursuing one with proof current and active enrollment Work Schedule is 8am to 2:30pm. Might be required to stay later. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Bring warmth, joy, and care to the program. Supervise and engage children with warmth and care all day. Maintain a gentle, curious, and respectful approach to children and families Build strong, nurturing relationships to support children’s social and emotional growth. Create lesson plans and lead activities that match children’s interests and development. Prepare materials and space daily for learning experiences. Observe, document and assess children’s progress to guide teaching and communicate with parents. Support children with daily routines ie arrival/departure, nap/rest, meals/snacks, diapering/toileting, handwashing, transitions, health/safety practices. Keep the classroom safe, clean, and organized to encourage learning and independence. Foster positive partnerships with families through regular communication and family engagement. Work closely with teachers, families, and others involved in the program. Take children outdoors including to Park and neighborhood walks. Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks that meet nutritional standards. Clean, sanitize and disinfect classroom areas as needed. Lead parent-teacher meetings to discuss children’s growth. Assist with health inspections and official visits. Participate in ongoing training, meetings, and supervision. Take on additional tasks as needed. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or pursuing one with at least 12 credits in ECE At least 2 years working in a child care setting Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting with the Department of Health Valid Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date) Three professional references (at least one must be from a child-related role) Able to bend, lift up to 30 lbs, and be physically active throughout the day (including outdoor play) Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch.
