DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the reception area; Greet all members and visitors and notify appropriate staff of visitors as needed; Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls to appropriate personnel; Responsible for scanning in attendance, lunch and breakfast clients, may be asked to assist with scanning other activities as needed; Assist in collecting daily meal contributions from members and guests; Keep daily logs (sign-in sheets) for members and visitors; Enter participant data into funding source database; May assist in setting up for classes and or activities being held; May be asked to lead low-level participatory classes such as Book Club, Short Story, Alert and Alive, etc.; Receive and sort packages and other correspondence; Other related duties as required by the Director

COMPETENCIES

Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental and emotional needs of older persons Knowledgeable in basic day-to-day technology Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite required, with the ability to learn database maintenance Team player Detail oriented Good communication skills Bilingual Spanish preferred Ability to work independently Commitment to organizations mission, vision and values Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities Have a commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.)

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

High School graduate or equivalent and 1-year experience in a community senior center or customer service related experience.
