Candidates MUST have two+ years of experience working with young children (preferably under the age of 3), be a team player, high energy & able to multi-task. A CDA is a plus & all candidates must qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisors with DHS to be considered.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with co-teachers to plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities. Help create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for toddlers. Monitor, engage & assist children during playtime, meals, personal hygiene & other daily routines. Provide individual and group support to children as needed. Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s development & progress. Complete observations & assessments as needed.

Qualifications:

Have two years of experience working with young children (2500 hours). Must qualify as a, Assistant Group Supervisor or higher with the Dept. of Human Services. Able to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks. Be able to pass a drug test. Be 18 years or older and able to work in the United States. A love for children and a desire to work with toddlers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children. Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment. Bilingual is a plus. A CDA certification is a plus.

Position Overview:

There is room for growth in this position with funding from the state for staff to further their education. This is a full-time position, but Bright Light full-time staff work a 4-day work week. The pay range starts at $17-$18.50 per hour ($33,500-$36,000 annually), relative to experience & education, with an additional pay increase based on performance at the end of a 90-day probation period. Full-time staff also receive paid holidays & PTO, sick pay, vision & dental insurance, annual raises, reduced child care & more.
